German Shepherds – Jager and Panzer
Jager and Panzer are beautiful German Shepherds and the most well-trained dogs I’ve probably ever met. We went in search of a variety of outdoor locations . . .
. . . and found this wonderful old gate.

We went running in a field . . .

We went into the woods and played with speckled light . . .

We went into the city to a graffiti wall . . .

. . . and ended up at my favorite boat house on the Potomac.

Fun Day at the Shelter (Animal Welfare League of Arlington)
The dogs were especially animated today so I wanted to share a few of the images and outtakes. All of these dogs are currently (as of 8/28/09) up for adoption from the Animal Welfare League of Arlington.

Faster than a speeding bullet . . .

. . . nothing’s more powerful than a tummy rub . . .

. . . able to catch flying red balls in a single bound!
Look, here at the shelter, it’s a dog, it’s a pal, it’s your new best friend! Run, don’t walk, to the Animal Welfare League of Arlington.
This concludes our public service announcement.
But WAIT!!!
There’s MORE!!!
If you go quickly, you’ll be able to see the anti-gravity dog.

Rocky – Gone but Never Forgotten
Rocky was a huge German Shepherd Dog with the sweetest and goofiest personality. He was adopted from a family who couldn’t give him the care he needed and became his owner’s best friend in no time. I had the pleasure of photographing him several times over the years. Unfortunately, Rocky recently lost his battle with cancer. He was an amazing dog and he touched a lot of hearts. Here are just a few glimpses into Rocky’s life - these will be part of a coffee table book for his owner.

This isn’t the first time images of Rocky have been on our blog – here are some images from a sunrise session we had in Washington, DC:
