Here are some of the wonderful dogs and cats that visit people in nursing and assisted-living facilities in Fairfax County with the Fairfax Pets on Wheels program. If you’ve ever thought about volunteering with your best friend, please check out their website – it is a truly wonderful organization!

Here are images of pet volunteers in 2009 . They are such a wonderful group of animals and people!

Here’s KC.  We love photographing him every year and he just as handsome as always!  I didn’t include his holiday card pictures so that will be a surprise, but here are some others from the session.  KC and his human both volunteer for Fairfax Pets on Wheels and bring lots of smiles to the people they visit in nursing homes.

We had the opportunity to photograph the canine volunteers for Fairfax Pets on Wheels at their annual picnic.  We’re going to create fun pet trading cards and unique photo notepads for the human volunteers using these images.

Cobb is a very sweet shepherd mix who is also a therapy dog with Fairfax Pets on Wheels. Raleigh is a gorgeous black brindle mix that was adopted from H.A.R.T.

During this session, we worked both outside and inside to create a variety of images. 

Raleigh adores Cobb – it was great to see their subtle interactions. 

Cobb is great at giving her paw.  We were going for a sit so I asked for her paw thinking she would sit first – but, no, she was laying down so she just offered her paw from there.  With those big brown eyes and her love of people, I can only imagine how many smiles she has been responsible for as a therapy dog.
