Cobb is a very sweet shepherd mix who is also a therapy dog with Fairfax Pets on Wheels. Raleigh is a gorgeous black brindle mix that was adopted from H.A.R.T.

During this session, we worked both outside and inside to create a variety of images. 

Raleigh adores Cobb – it was great to see their subtle interactions. 

Cobb is great at giving her paw.  We were going for a sit so I asked for her paw thinking she would sit first – but, no, she was laying down so she just offered her paw from there.  With those big brown eyes and her love of people, I can only imagine how many smiles she has been responsible for as a therapy dog.

Here are a few photos from the Fairfax Pets on Wheels (FPOW) Portrait Event we had last month.  I donate a portion of the proceeds from this event to Fairfax Pets on Wheels.  I’ve written about them before – I used to be a member with my dog, Chica, and it’s a top-knotch organization.  People and their pets visit other people in nursing homes and it’s a win-win for everyone involved.  Anyway, just wanted to share a few images of some of the beautiful pets that volunteer.  (I took more photos that had people in them but I’m only showing the pets in this post.)  Oh, and KC from this post – is a long-time volunteer of FPOW!

Remember those crazy, extremely hot days we were having here in Virginia?  Well, on one of those days, Fairfax Pets on Wheels had their annual volunteer appreciation picnic.  As a former participant in Fairfax Pets on Wheels with my dog, Chica, I was proud to be there photographing the animals for pet trading cards.  If you don’t know about the Fairfax Pets on Wheels Program, it is a wonderful organization.  As quoted from their website:  “Fairfax Pets On Wheels connects pets with people living in nursing homes and assisted living facilities.” Here’s a link to find out more  http://www.fpow.org/ (make sure to watch the video):
