Bailey the Bichon – In Loving Memory

Bailey in red sunglasses

I first met Bailey in 2003 at a portrait event – and I’ve had the pleasure of photographing him at several other portrait events – the last one in 2008.  Aside from being a joy to photograph, he was adorable, loving and a true partner to his human.  There are no words when this happens.  I hope you can get a glimpse of his wonderful personality in these images.

Olde Towne Pet Resort – Winter Portrait Sessions

We love going to the Olde Towne Pet Resort in Springfield, VA.  If you haven’t been there – you should go and take a tour – it’s a state-of-the-art facility built specifically for dogs and cats.  A few times a year, we host portrait events here - below are a few samples from our September event.  We have another event this weekend, November 1 and 2nd.

This is Duffy.  Duffy was such a wonderful and loving dog.  She was very sick when she came to the session, though you wouldn’t know it.  Since then, she has crossed over the rainbow bridge.  We feel so fortunate to have been able to meet her – if only for a short time.  She touched a lot of hearts.Duffy - Border Collie

Here’s Bo and Puck again, they hold the record on being the most mentioned dogs in this blog.  They are always such fun to photograph.  This is just one of the many holiday images they helped us create.Bo and Puck - Bichons

Then there is Bailey and Sherlock.  We’ve had the opportunity to photograph them before and they just keep getting more and more photogenic.  (Bailey is on the left.)Bichon and Shih Tsu mix

This group of dogs (aka “The James Gang”) all live together with wonderful parents.  From left, they are Milo, Daisy, Mae and Jake.  Each of these dogs has their own portrait in their house - this time it was Mae’s turn – that’s her in the inset image.Four dogs

And finally, here’s Treasure.  He’s a samoyed puppy that is a fluff-ball of energy.  You can see how much he’s grown by looking at one of our previous posts featuring puppies and kittens.Samoyed

Fear the Bichon

I’m working on the images from the portrait event this past weekend and I had to take a break to have a little fun.  This is a retouched image of Bo and Puck – both adorable Bichons getting in touch with their inner “Cujo”.

The Power of Two

Well, Spring has sprung.  Not only are people out enjoying the weather, so are dogs.  I’ve had the opportunity to photograph lots of dogs outside lately, and not just individual dogs, but dogs in pairs.  One is great – but you can see how much fun two have together.

Meet Bo and Puck.  They are 5 and 4 months old, respectively, and they love to play the chase game.  These Bichon puppies are very resourceful as well.  Even though they have lots of toys to choose from, they prefer a pinecone they found outside.

Then, there was Hogan and Halle – two gorgeous English black labs.  Of course, they love the water, so here are a few images of them enjoying themselves together.

And finally, I photographed Bo and Holly, two 7 month old Shih Tzu’s who also love to play together.  They have an older Shih Tzu brother named Kirby who holds the fort down while they are frolicking in the grass.  They’ve never met a leaf they didn’t like!
