Louie, the Holiday Pug!

We love photographing Louie every year for his holiday card!  He is a very handsome pug and every year he amazes me with his eagerness to try anything.  (The promise of chicken when he gets home doesn’t hurt.)

Not only is Louie a volunteer with Fairfax Pets on Wheels, he also volunteers at the library and children come in to read books to him.  Isn’t his attentive face amazing?

Thanks, Louie, for bringing so many smiles to the world!

Just For Fun Friday – The Wolf and the Red Glove

While we were at the Wolf Sanctuary, they had to go into the pen with their truck.  When no one was watching, this wolf jumped into the bed of the truck and helped himself to a red glove.  It was funny watching him trot off with his prize.  Eventually, they traded something more valuable than the glove and were able to retrieve it easily.  This wolf is known as the “thief” of the pack.

Wolves!

I recently had the opportunity to visit a Wolf Sanctuary in Lititz, Pennsylvania.  They provide care and shelter to wolves that for one reason or another can no longer live in the wild.

There are two wolves in the image below, can you see them?wolves_hidden

(hint: one of them is black)

Wolves are amazing to watch and hear.

While I had mixed emotions seeing them behind fences, it was comforting to know there is a place that can take them in when they can no longer live in the wild.wolves_4

This isn’t really a snarl, it’s the end of a yawn.

The Wolf Sanctuary of Pennsylvania is largely supported and run by volunteers.  If you’d like more information or would like to help, here is their website:  http://www.wolfsancpa.com/index.html
