Puppies and Kittens – Oh My!

Who doesn’t love looking at puppies and kittens?  Below are a few images from recent sessions – I absolutely love photographing the young furballs.  Even better, I love being able to see them grow up and capture the various stages they go through.  We’ve created a new program called “Four Seasons” where you’ll get four sessions throughout the year that will highlight the changes in your pet – as well as the changes in the seasons.  We live in a great area for showing the various seasons!  This isn’t only limited to puppies and kittens.  Call us at 703-354-3736 for more information.   Anyway – enough words – here are some pictures . . .

Fall Season and Upcoming Events

Fall is almost here and it’s a great time of year!  The leaves in northern Virginia are scheduled to peak between October 27th and November 4th – it’s a beautiful natural backdrop for outdoor portraits.

Here is a sample from last year and also this year’s ad in the Washingtonian for September.

Now, get out there with your best friend and enjoy this wonderful weather!

Remembering with Sadness and Respect

This is Roxy Booth.  She was owned by 1Lt Joshua L. Booth, U.S.M.C. (K.I.A. 10.17.06, Al Anbar, Iraq) who was killed in Iraq.  Before he left to serve, he and his wife visited this same wall at the Korean War Memorial in Washington, DC, and she took a picture of her husband here.  That was the inspiration for this image.  Josh’s uncle, Black Booth, has Roxy now and they are both in training for Search and Rescue in Josh’s honor.  Here is a slideshow with images from our session and additional images provided by Josh’s family:  http://roxybooth2007.homestead.com/files/index.html

German Shepherd Roxy

The German Shepherd Dog in this portrait is 1Lt Booth’s family dog named Roxy, from Hawaii, where Josh and his family were based at Kanehoe Bay Marine Corps Base. After Joshua’s passing, rather than leaving Roxy behind, the family brought her home to the mainland where she continues to be a beloved family member. K9 Roxy is now a Search and Rescue (SAR) canine and part of a K9 SAR team in Virginia. She serves as a living affirmation of Josh’s life, and like Josh, she lives and works to serve others.

This portrait of Roxy is being offered to benefit the children of fallen U.S. Marine’s with the proceeds going to the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation.  If you send an e-mail to info@pawprintsphotography.com I can get you the information necessary to purchase this image.

Summer’s Over – What a Way to End It!

So, a few posts back I mentioned the Doggie Swim that would be happening in Alexandria, VA, at the Chinquapin Park Recreation Center.  It was definitely the place to be if you’re a lab or golden retriever – but there were lots of other breeds and mixes as well.  What an incredibly fun event to watch!
