Equine Impressions . . .

I went out to a barn this weekend and created some images for myself.  I am adding equine (horse) photography to my portfolio and spent a few hours at a site visit in preparation for a future shoot.  My goal with these images was to capture the experience I had at the barn.  I saw such interesting light and texture – and movement and stillness – and I wanted to convey that in these images.

If you’d like to see more images from the barn, you can click on this link for a slideshow.

Below are images of the horses as they are getting washed off after their exercise.  Thought I’d mention that after my brother called to ask if I had photographed the horses relieving themselves. :) hosing down horse hooveshorse trotting around ring

August 31, 2008 - 8:01 pm Jamie Pflughoeft - Robin these are STUNNING. I mean, truly stunning. Words can't express how awesome these shots are. I am in awe. The water shots are brilliant. Please, oh please do more equine photography! If this is your first foray into equine photography, you better watch out, you are totally onto something here. I can't wait to see more shots from your upcoming shoot. Wow. You inspire me to go out and find some horses. :-)
