Here’s to lots of smiles in 2009!

Here’s wishing everyone a wonderful holiday season!  I’m one of those people who has all the right intentions of getting cards out for Christmas, but never quite make it.  (I think I may have successfully sent out cards in 1995.)  And, every year, I say the same thing – well, I missed Christmas, so I’ll send out New Year’s cards.  That comes and goes and still no mailing.  Believe it or not, one year, I even bought a whole set of St. Paddy’s day cards to send out and, yes, I still have them (along with the ill-fated New Years cards of 2005).  Well, if I had sent out Christmas cards last year, here’s what they would have looked like (yes, they were designed last year and they feature our dogs, Chica and Juno):

I also planned and designed cards this year as well, again featuring Chica and Juno – but at almost 16, Chica isn’t jumping much anymore - I managed to give a few away but I don’t think any of them actually saw a stamp -

So, to all of you successful card senders, I applaud you and I humbly say, thank you!

Many more sessions to blog that I haven’t gotten to – in the meantime, thank you for stopping by, and for my wonderful customers and friends, thank you for all of your support!

Well, it’s almost Christmas and I hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season!  We had the privilege of photographing Tammy Rosen and her beautiful family.  Tammy is the owner of Fur-Get Me Not with offices in Arlington, VA and also Washington, DC.   Her business has been voted best doggie daycare numerous times - they also offer bathing, training, a pet boutique, pet sitting and dog walking.  Make sure to check out their website to find out more:  www.furgetmenot.com.

Here is her dog, Hunter, a gorgeous golden retriever, hanging out by the Christmas tree.

We actually started the session outside where Hunter is a master at playing ball.

Hunter is great at sharing. 

They won’t be the same height for long.

Here’s the whole family:

It was getting pretty cold outside, so we went in to get warm.  That’s where I captured this image which had us cracking up.  So, when you have a toddler and a big dog, sometimes you lean the toddler on the dog – it makes for a cute picture.  That is, until the dog decides to move.

Everyone was fine – and it all happened in relatively slow motion.  It’s just a fun outake of what happens when you combine kids and dogs.  Of course, you can also capture some very sweet moments like this one.

So, it seems like it has snowed in all of the usual places this year except here (Northern Virginia).  Probably no dog wants it to snow more than Bailey – he loves hanging outside in the cold weather.

One of the challenges with our sessions is what to do with all of the images.  Often, the solution is multiple images together in a frame.  Here are some of the frame groupings that were chosen to display the favorite images:

And, while this session was mainly for Bailey, we couldn’t pass up photographing Callie – Bailey’s cat buddy.
